In the memory of a winegrower, the harvest season has never been so early in Chassagne-Montrachet. We started picking the first grapes on August 24 and finished on September 1 !
It must be said that the cycle of the vine had started very early, the buds developing at a crazy rate from the month of April. The flowering of the vine followed at the beginning of May, which augured at that time a very early harvest. The hot and very dry summer allowed the whole vineyard to reach superb maturity, only a few young vines suffered from the lack of water.
The quality and especially the sugar-acidity balances are amazing ... 2020 already looks like an extraordinary vintage!
